Alameda County Mayors’ Conference Elects New Officers

The Alameda County Mayors’ Conference, at its May 8, 2024, meeting, elected John Marchand, Mayor of Livermore, as its President and Mark Salinas, Mayor of Hayward, as its Vice President. Their term will run until May 14, 2025.

Alameda County Mayors” Conference Adopt a Resolution 2-24.1 Expressing its Desire that the County of Alameda Award The Alameda County Fire Department the County’s Emergency Medical Services Contract to Provide Ambulance and Associated Services Within the County’s Exclusive Operating Area.

Alameda County Mayors’ Conference Adopts a Resolution Supporting the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women

The Alameda County Mayors’ Conference, at its meeting on June 14, 2023, approved Resolution 2023.1, A Resolution of the Alameda County Mayors’ Conference Supporting the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW).   A copy of the resolution is located here.

Alameda County Mayors’ Conference Adopts a Resolution Supporting Women’s Right to Reproductive Healthcare

The Alameda County Mayors’ Conference, at its meeting on July 13, 2021, unanimously adopted Resolution No, 01.22, A Resolution of the Alameda County Mayors’ Conference Relating to Reproductive Health Care; Declaring Opposition to the Opinion in Dobbs V. Women’s Health Organization; Denouncing State Laws and Other provisions Criminalizing Abortion; Supporting the Constitutional Rights of Pregnant Person, Including Their Access to Reproductive HEal Care and Abortions; and Declaring an Emergency.    A copy of the resolution is located here.

Alameda County Authorizes Letter Supporting Bay Adapt: Regional Strategy for a Rising Bay Area

At its January 12, 2022, meeting, Alameda County Mayors’ Conference authorized a letter supporting the San Franciso Bay Conservation and Development Commission’s (BCDC) Bay Adapt: Regional Strategy for a Rising Bay Area, which was the outcome of the Bay Adapt Joint Platform developed through a stakeholder-led process to determine the best ways for the San Franciso Bay Area to become regionally resilient to rising sea levels.  The letter is available here.

Alameda County Mayors’ Conference Adopts a Resolution to Continue Virtual Meetings

The Alameda County Mayors’ Conference, at its meeting on October 13, 2021, unanimously adopted Resolution No. 03.21, adopting findings regarding social distancing and public health arising from the COVID-19 pandemic, which warrants the continuation of virtual meetings. The resolution is required to comply with SB 361 regarding the continuation of virtual meetings. The Mayors’ Conference will review COVID-19 risks monthly and continue the consideration of readopting the resolution to assure continued AB 361 compliance. A copy of the resolution is located here.

Alameda County Mayors’ Conference Adopts a Resolution Commemorating Juneteenth ad the End of Slavery in the United States

The Alameda County Mayors’ Conference at its meeting of June 9, 2021, unanimously adopted Resolution No. 21.02 in which the Alameda County Mayors’ Conference supports designating June 19th as Juneteenth Independence Day, supports Juneteenth celebrations annually in their cities, recognizes the historical significance of Juneteenth Independence Day to the United States, and supports the continued nationwide celebration of to provide an opportunity for the people of the United States to learn more about the past and to better understand and acknowledge the experiences that have shaped the United States, and recognizes the observance of the end of slavery is a crucial part of the history and heritage of the United States. and commemorating Juneteenth and the end of slavery in the United States. Alameda County Mayors’ Conference Adopts a Resolution Denouncing Xenophobia and Anti-Asian Racism

The Alameda County Mayors’ Conference, at its meeting on March 10, 2021, unanimously adopted Resolution No, 01.21, A Resolution of the Alameda County Mayors’ Conference Denouncing Xenophobia and Anti-Asian Racism Arising Due to Fears of the COVID-19 Pandemic and Affirming its Commitment to the Well-Being and Safety of Asian Pacific Islander Community.  A copy of the resolution is located here.

 

Alameda County Mayors’ Conference Adopts Amendments to its Bylaws

At its meeting on October 11, 2017, the Alameda County Mayors’ Conference adopted amendments to its Bylaws, clarifying its process for making appointments to regional boards. A description of the amendments is detailed here.

Alameda County Mayors’ Conference Adopts Resolution Opposing the Tax Fairness, Transparency and Accountability Act of 2018 

At its meeting on June 13, 2018, the Alameda County Mayors’ Conference adopted Resolution 03-18, “A Resolution of the Alameda County Mayors’ Conference Opposing the Tax Fairness, Transparency and Accountability Act of 2018″ which is scheduled for the November 6, 2018, statewide ballot.
